Avanti MFG 2017With an unprecedented amount of interested students this year, Avanti Engineering, Inc hosted MFG Day 2017 events on both October 6th and 12th. They wanted to accommodate as many students as possible and inspire our future manufacturing workforce.

But before students were given the tour of the manufacturing floor, they learned the history of Avanti Engineering, Inc.

The College of DuPage Foundation nourishes students of promise who, with determination and perseverance, transform their lives through education. The College of DuPage Foundation awarded over $400,000 in academic scholarship to nearly 600 students last year, thanks to scholarship donations.

Even though there are hundreds of standard screw options on the market, manufacturers sometimes prefer to use custom components for the perfect fit.

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, which means a computer converts the design generated from Computer Aided Design software (CAD), into numbers. These numbers are associated with the coordinates of a graph and the computer controls the movement of the tools. The machine tools are automated by precise programming encoded on a computer command module, usually attached to the machine, instead of being controlled manually or mechanically automated.    The CNC Machine may look like it has standard controls, but the computer's exclusive software and control console are what really makes CNC machining the most reliable operation for machining metal or plastic parts.
