Screw and lathe machines are essential to creating parts and products in almost every industry. They can produce parts in different capacities for every field, from medical to aerospace.

The following helps explain the machinery used to produce precision turned parts.

Equipment Used for High Volume Precision Turned Parts

At Avanti Engineering, we have several different machines for producing high volume precision turned parts. Our screw machines can produce a large volume of fasteners and screws, while our engine lathes can cut metal into precise shapes.

Every company differs slightly in the machining equipment it employs. The following is a list of the top-of-the-line equipment we use to serve our clients.

Brown & Sharpe

A Brown & Sharpe machine is a single spindle screw machine with an auto bar feed. This versatile machine can complete a variety of different operations. Those include reaming, drilling, knurling, boring, and counterboring to name a few.

It can handle medium volume machining projects, with more than 10/M.

New Britain / Acme Gridley

This multi-spindle screw machine can produce screws and fasteners for a variety of industries, across the board.

The New Britain / Acme Gridley multi-spindle screw machine is one of the most versatile in the industry. It can produce parts from a multitude of materials, from brass and aluminum to steels, plastics, and castings.

This ruggedly efficient machine can handle medium volume production, over 25/M.

Davenport Department

This multi-spindle screw machine has multiple spindles on a drum that rotates horizontally. It can cut into various materials, cutting them into small parts simultaneously. It can use a number of different tools to create parts with intricate shapes.

The Davenport Department multi-spindle screw machine offers a high volume capability, with more than 50/M.

CNC Swiss Lathes

Our CNC Swiss Lathes are multi-axis and have ultra-precision technology. They have the capability of producing complex 3D designs, and can also perform traditional machining tasks on a tilted surface.

One leading-edge industry that uses parts created using this machine is aerospace. It can produce precision parts with contoured edges and extremely smooth edges, meeting tight thresholds required for specialized design and safety requirements.

This machine can handle all machining quantities.

CNC Bar Lathes

While a bar lathe operates differently than our CNC Swiss Lathes, it can also produce any quantity of precision parts. This multi-axis, ultra-precise machine also comes complete with 18 Multi-Spindle Cam Automatics.

Quality Assurance

All of our equipment regularly undergoes careful inspection. Since we ensure our equipment is in optimal shape, we offer quality assurance on our machines, and the parts we produce for you.

In-House Tool Room

Some (if not many) parts manufacturers are not equipped for in-house tooling. While they can still certainly get the job done, the process isn’t as efficient as it could be.

At Avanti, we complete your order in-house, in our tool room. That means we are hands-on from start to finish on your machining projects. We will work with you to make sure that your order is created correctly, and in the shortest amount of time possible.

Our Specialty

Avanti Engineering specializes in high-volume precision turned parts. We are even recognized as the #1 Screw Machine Products Manufacturer in the U.S. Contact us to discuss your project or submit an RFQ.
